When the moon is just barely lit by the sun you can technically still see the rest of the moon very dimly. The reason you can see it is because of the light reflected off the Earth, a phenomena called Earthshine. I don’t quite have the right camera equipment to get this picture right, but I don’t think it was a bad attempt anyway!

Tonight was a beautiful night to see Mars and Jupiter. Mars is somewhat past optimal viewing, but the planet wide dust storm has finally subsided so I finally got some surface details. If you look closely Olympus Mons is even there!
