Jupiter High in the Sky

Jupiter is finally nicely high in the sky at a reasonable hour. Tonight I decided to take the telescope out and take a quick photo. I didn't collimate or use a bhatinov mask for focus, I just did my best by eye. I used a fast shutter and higher gain to try for more frames faster. I used a 3x Barlow and stacked the top 50% of frames.

I'm very pleased, for such an informal image it turned out extremely crisp. The high elevation angle definitely helps, but i think it's also the high frame rate.

The next few weeks should be a lot of fun!
