Many people get caught up in quantifying how they’re progressing in their drum journey. One of the most asked questions online is “am I an intermediate or beginner drummer”.

Mostly this is a subjective matter, and there’s lots of different caveats: can you play it technically well, can you play it live well, can you improvise over it?

I’m squarely in the camp where the journey IS the destination, but for all those people on the internet here are some of the most fun songs to play that I’d consider Easy, Medium, and Hard!

There is no single standard set of drum notation for sheet music, though I try to use the most common. To avoid any confusion, the diagram below is the drum notation I use:
